THE DESIGN PROCESS
-
We will meet with you to discuss your project needs, project scope, long and short term goals, aesthetic preferences, personal lifestyle or company culture, budget, and schedule.
Once a project scope, schedule, and budget are determined and services agreed upon, we will measure and photograph your home or building to prepare base documents, review applicable local, state, and national codes and develop strategies towards accomplishing your goal.
-
Utilizing information from your site and/or structure, we will prepare design sketches for your review. Depending upon the project, such drawings may include a preliminary site plan, floor plans, exterior designs, interior designs, and 3D models.
-
Detailed drawings will be prepared based on the chosen schematic design sketches.
Showroom visits and final product selections such as exterior finishes and colors, windows, doors, and interior finishes are evaluated and selected.
Additional considerations for methods of project execution and introduction to potential builders for preliminary estimates will be determined.
-
Detailed construction drawings and specifications are prepared for building permit approval and contractor bidding purposes.
-
Selected contractors are solicited for bids. Bids are reviewed and negotiated for final selection.
-
The Architect and Designer can provide a variety of services such as site visits, shop drawing review, and coordination of additional trades. During construction, an owner will be asked to make many decisions and we are your advocate to educate and help you make better choices to achieve your desired goals.
-
Enjoy your new home or building.
